Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Responsible and accountable for working with team members to complete spray foam jobs and other necessary work as directed by the Operations Manager or the company owners.
- Prepares thoroughly, familiar with the scope of work per job and for job assignment by ensuring necessary equipment, safety gear, tools, paperwork and supplies are brought.
- Make necessary preparations for installation process at jobsite by unloading equipment and placing items in location of installation.
- May be required to wear a supplied air or cartridge filter respirator throughout the application process depending on the type of product used.
- Survey the jobsite and take steps to prevent and protect against overspray. This includes premises and vehicles parked near spray areas.
- Keep people a minimum of 50 feet away from the immediate spray area, especially those not wearing required PPE.
- Survey electrical and security wiring and secure them as necessary before spraying.
- Approach the prep work in a systematic way so that no areas are missed.
- Ensure that can foaming and caulking are completed as necessary around windows, doors, etc. Use good judgement and caution to not over-foam any areas.
- Review the work done to ensure that there will be no callbacks.
- Trim and bag “scrapped” foam materials as it accumulates.
- Maintain a high standard of clean-up before leaving any jobsite. Be sure that all necessary touch-up work and clean-up is completed before leaving the jobsite.
- Survey jobsite before leaving to ensure that all company tools and equipment are picked up, returned to the truck and cleaned up for the next use
- Understand the proper operating procedures of the spray equipment. Learn spraying techniques from other spray foam team leaders.
- Work to develop good spray techniques to eliminate waste and overspray.
- Uphold and protect the high quality standards of Ecological Insulation ensuring that all work performed meets or exceeds these standards.
- Responsible and accountable for working with team members.
- Other duties as assigned.
Expectations:
- Arrive on time, with appropriate clothing/uniforms, personal hand tools and personal protective gear.
- Perform all required duties to Better World Builders standard work practices.
- Attend all assigned training and safety sessions.
- Respectful and Professional behavior on all job sites including, but not limited to: No cursing, No smoking of any kind, No judging, No fighting.
- Clock-in to correct jobsite and select the correct task/work activities on app/company provided phone.
- Report any equipment failures, breakdowns and/or operating issues.
- Document all work photos of tasks being completed.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math and reading skills are required.

Education and Experience:
- Ability to read work orders, and ensure quality installations.
- Desire to accomplish work and be part of something big that requires teamwork.
- Problem solving skills – understand house systems – roofing, attic ventilation, siding windows.
- Problem solving skills – mechanical systems a plus – small engines, blowers, generators, insulation machines.
- Ability to use tablets and/or cell phones to document work.
- Ability to communicate with customers, crew, and company management.
- Desire to continually learn more about building science, home performance, and people management.
- Experience with Blower Doors, Combustion Analysis, and Infrared Imaging a plus.
- Construction trade experience is appreciated; roofs, drywall, siding, windows, etc.
Certification(s) and License(s):
- Valid Driver's License (Chauffer’s License preferred).
- OSHA 10 (Required within first 100 days of employment).
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Noise level is typically moderate.
- Employee will be required to wear a respirator regularly.
- Ability to work within crawlspaces and other tight quarters on a regular basis.
- Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel.
- Work is physically demanding and involves working in challenging environments, while maintaining focus and attention to safety and detail.
- Work areas are typically residential attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Temperature extremes are often present, including both very hot and very cold.
